Thousands of acres of cultivable land and/or barren land remain unproductive as conventional agriculture activities cannot be taken up in this land due to lack of rain. On the other hand there is growing demand for bio fuel all over the world.  SDDPA has taken up a demonstration program of effective utilization of uncultivated and fallow land through massive plantation of bio diesel trees such as pongamia.
